- Instagram photo file format – PNG, JPG, BMP.
- Instagram reels aspect ratio – 9:16, 1:1 (IG cover photo), 4:5 (for the IG home feed).
- Instagram reels size in pixels – 1080 x 1920 (px).

How to make a reel with one photo –
For a single photo, the length of the reel will be 5 seconds.
Step 1 – Open your Instagram account and click the (+) icon available at the top right of the screen near IG messenger.
Step 2 – Select the ‘Reel’ option from the multiple options as shown in the below picture.
Step 3 –Your camera screen will be open, click the box which is available at the left bottom corner.
Step 4 – Select the photo that you to add and click ‘Next’.
Step 5 – Now you can choose audio by clicking the music symbol if you wish. After that click the ‘Add’ button.
Step 6 – You’ll see lots of features, like effects, and text. After editing your photo click ‘Next’ and the Instagram photo reel will be published. You can tag people and write captions before sharing it.
How to make a reel with multiple photos –
If you want to create 60 seconds of the reel then you will be able to add 20 photos as they will be 3 seconds in length for each photo.

Suppose you don’t want to use the inbuilt editor of the Instagram app to make a reel with photos. Then what you will do? Well, in case of this you can try video editing apps like VN, Inshot, etc.
Personally, I like the VN video editing app, so I will show you steps by step to create reels using only photos with the help of the VN video editing app. The great thing is that you can export your reel without any watermark.
For this, you need to install this app on your phone.
Step 1 – Open the VN app. Go to the ‘Template’ option.
Step 2 – From the ‘Instagram Reels’ option, choose any template you like.
Step 3 – Select the photos you want to be in your reel. Maximum 10 photos you can add to your reel. After that click ‘Next’.
Step 4 – A preview will play when you click the ‘Next’ button, Here you can edit your photos.
Step 5 – After editing click the ‘Export’ button which is available at the top corner of the right-hand side.
Step 6 – When you click the export button, an ‘Export settings’ screen will appear on your screen. Here you can choose the desired export setting for the reel. After clicking the ‘Right’ symbol as shown in the picture and wait for the completion of exporting.
Step 7 – When exporting will complete a screen will appear. Click the ‘Save to album’ button. By doing this, your reel will be saved in Mobile Gallery.
Step 8 – Now open your Instagram and click the ‘Reel’ option as shown in the below picture.
